This is a hand-made wood-fired tea pot by Taiwanese master Mashalu, whose name means "Thank you" in her native aboriginal home language.
There is no glaze on this pot. It’s 100% color, texture and shine by natural wood-firing. Mashalu successively fires different wood species to give layers of color and texture in an extremely high-heat four-day "ash-fall" process. It's not easy and takes the vigilance of four 24-hour days.
The color and texture don’t really come out in the pictures. Please maximize to get a better idea - although pictures may show slight variation in the actual color.
Clay is tested and fired for more than 100 hours at 1200 deg. Celsius.

If you choose to brew tea in it, we will not be able to accept your return as this starts the seasoning process which someone else might not appreciate.
